This 1962 Chevrolet Impala SS coupe was purchased new at Wyatt Chevrolet of Danville, Virginia, on March 24, 1962, and was acquired by the owner in 2017. Subsequent work consisted of installing a replacement brake master cylinder, wheel cylinders, brake lines and fittings, U-joints, power steering lines, and a stainless steel dual exhaust system. Power is provided by a 327ci V8 linked with a T-10 four-speed manual transmission, and the car is finished in turquoise over turquoise vinyl upholstery. Features include power steering, 14″ steel wheels, spinner-style wheel covers, T3 headlights, a center console, a push-button radio, bucket seats, and a Carter four-barrel carburetor. This Impala SS is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with manufacturer’s literature, an initial purchase document, a 1:25 scale model of the car, and a Washington state title.
The body left the factory finished in Twilight Turquoise (965) and features include an engine-turned taillight panel and side moldings, a quarter panel-mounted antenna, quad headlamps, Impala SS badging, rocker panel moldings, and dual exhaust outlets that exit behind the rear wheels. There are chips and scratches in the paint, and photos of paint-meter readings and blemishes are shown in the gallery.
Turquoise-finished 14″ steel wheels wear spinner-style covers and are mounted with 215/75 Jetzon Innovation Steel Belted Radial tires. A full-size spare and jack are mounted in the trunk. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by drums at all four corners. A replacement brake master cylinder was reportedly installed under current ownership along with replacement wheel cylinders, power steering lines, and brake lines and fittings.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in turquoise vinyl and joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes a heater and defroster, a Delco push-button AM radio, a center console, vent windows, aluminum trim accents, and polished door sills.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a horizontal 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges indicating coolant temperature and fuel level. The column-mounted Sun tachometer does not work. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 9k miles, approximately 550 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 327ci V8 was factory rated at 300 horsepower and features a Carter four-barrel carburetor. The battery is said to have been replaced and the carburetor adjusted in 2023. There is corrosion on the battery tray.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a T-10 four-speed manual transmission. A stainless steel dual exhaust system and mufflers are installed. The U-joints are said to have been replaced under current ownership.
An owner identification document displaying the original delivery date and dealer will accompany the car along with manufacturer’s literature and a 1:25 scale model of the car are included in the sale.
