This three-month-old pup refused to leave his deceased brother’s side after he was hit by a vehicle.
The devastated dog stayed with the pup for two days until a kind-hearted person buried her.
Witnesses in Pixian county in southwest China’s Sichuan province reported seeing two dogs, one gray and one brown, lying in the middle of the road.
The brown pup was protecting the gray’s body from being hit by any passing car by jumping up and barking whenever one got close.
They stayed in the same position for many days until a person led them to a safe place on the side of the road.
Another member of the public dug a hole to bury the gray dog. Even then, his brother plunged into the hole too reluctant to leave his mate.
Ultimately, the brown dog was recovered by employees of a nearby animal protection shelter where it is being cared for.
