Ronaldo’s goal against Al Wehda helped Al Nassr have their 7th consecutive victory in all competitions.
In the early morning of November 12 (Vietnam time), Al Nassr had a trip to Al Wehda’s stadium in round 13 of the 2023/2024 Saudi Arabia National Championship. Ronaldo returned to Al Nassr’s starting lineup after being rested in the match against Al Duhail in the Asian Cup on November 8.
Against the underrated host Al Wehda, Al Nassr players quickly took the initiative. In the 11th minute, from a direct free kick in front of the home team’s penalty area, Alex Telles kicked into the opponent’s net to open the score for the away team.
After the opening goal, Al Nassr players continued to put pressure on Al Wehda’s goal. But it wasn’t until the 39th minute that the gap was doubled for the away team. Receiving Brozovic’s cross from the left wing, Abdulelah Al-Amri jumped high and headed dangerously, not giving goalkeeper Munir Mohamedi a chance to block.
In the second half, Al Nassr continued to have a good start. In the 39th minute, catching an unobserved pass from Al Wehda player, Ronaldo easily finished with one touch to increase the score to 3-0 for Al Nassr.
During the remaining time of the second half, Al Nassr players also created a number of good scoring opportunities but the strikers all missed them. On the other hand, the loose defense caused the defending runner-up to concede in the 86th minute. The scorer for Al Wehda was Anselmo.
In the end, Al Nassr won 3-1 against Al Wehda. This result helps Ronaldo’s team continue to rank 2nd in the Saudi Arabia National Championship rankings with 31 points, 4 points behind leading team Al Hilal. This is also Al Nassr’s 7th consecutive victory in all competitions.
